Everything starts in Santiago. Distances are straight-line, computed from each place's real coordinates: they are not road distances.

The ravine that starts where the city ends, with a waterfall at the far end.

A whole glacial valley an hour from the city. The gate of the Andes.

Native forest and clear water in the foothills above Pirque.
Duration, effort and season are Chile de Finde estimates to help you plan. They have not been verified on the ground.

The ravine that starts where the city ends, with a waterfall at the far end.

A whole glacial valley an hour from the city. The gate of the Andes.

Native forest and clear water in the foothills above Pirque.

Real high mountain in Cajón del Maipo: a glacier, a lagoon and silence.

The last great Chilean palm forest, and the summit Darwin climbed.

Terraces of hot water high up the Cajón del Maipo.

A glacial valley with burrowing parrots screaming overhead.

The sea stacks, the Pacific and the best sunset on the route.

Seven pools carved into basalt by the Claro river, and a valley behind.

The way to El Enladrillado, the stone plateau suspended above the valley.

Sky, valley and silence. The furthest point on the route.

The project
Chile de Finde picks natural and cultural destinations reachable from Santiago and orders them by distance: first what fits in a morning, then what asks for a night away, and finally what needs several days.
The idea is simple: getting to these places is easier with other people. Small groups, logistics explained upfront and no mystery about what it takes to get there.
Right now we are in the validation phase: we publish the destinations, collect interest and use that to decide which ones get prepared first. When a trip has a real date, guide or budget, it will say so in those words.
The destinations with the most interest will be the first to become real trips. There are no fixed dates, prices or bookings yet: marking interest is exactly what decides the order.
